Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: How can your services help me and my organization?

A: Here's some ways I can benefit you:

  • I put what benefits you and your business or organization first.
  • I'm a knowledgeable, experienced and talented designer who knows how to satisfy customers.
  • I'm a great communicator who keeps clients informed about their work.
  • My prices are fair, and you get the quality you pay for.

Q: A lot of other web sites offer some free designs. What's different about your service?

A: Again, I offer free work to non-profit organizations. But unlike other sites that offer stock photos and other "canned" graphics that you can download, at FreeForAll Designs you can get graphics that are custom designed to suit your unique purposes. Business logos, for example, should represent your business's market, culture, and product. The top management of the most successful firms know that downloading a design created by somebody who knows little about that business probably won't work well. That's why they sometimes spend millions of dollars to have a professional designer create a logo for their business. I can provide that same service for free!

Q: What background do you have in design work and how do you create these designs?

A: I've been working with computer graphics since 1993. About four years ago I decided to pursue computer graphics first as a hobby and now as a business and a career. I recently graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in Digital Design. I've been in the design business since September 2007.

I create my designs using paper and pencil for concept sketches. Once I have some good ideas, I use professional grade software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to develop those ideas into refined digital comps. If I place them on the Internet, then I use Adobe Dreamweaver.

Q: I'd prefer to pay for your services. Can you offer me work that I can pay for?

A: Yes. I charge most businesses and individuals for my work now. I only offer pro bono work to non-profit organizations.

Q: What payment options do you accept?

A: You can pay via your PayPal account or pay with a check.

A: What limits do you place on your work?

Q: Depending on the volume of work proposals I receive, I may or may not be able to do all the work that people request. I will need to consider each proposal on a case-by-case basis, and proposals that I either don't have time to do or that are inappropriate in some way cannot be honored.

Q: How will you work with people whose work you decide to do?

A: It's very important that I can communicate well with people I work for. All clients will need to respond to my questions in a timely manner. Most communication can take place via email or telephone. I'll need information regarding the client's name, address, business name, and anything else that pertains to the graphic I'm creating. As the work progresses, I'll need feedback from the client to ensure that the work is progressing satisfactorily.

Q:How will you deliver the product when it's finished?

A: I will email logos, illustrations and photos when they are finished. They will be in a digital form, of course, and the file format can be JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PDF, or perhaps some other graphic format if you wish. If you are to receive business cards or greeting cards, then I can either mail them to you, or you can pick them up if you live in the Williamsport, Pennsylvania area.

Q: Who gets the copyright on the work you do for your clients?

A: What copyrights I transfer to my clients will result from negotiation with those clients. Generally I will limit the rights I transfer to my clients to protect my own ability to legally reuse some types of works. In most cases I will at least wish to retain demonstration rights to place works in my portfolio.
